Rome
      1765 Rome
      • The eternal city has inspired many artists, but it is rare that an artist is able to inspire, literally to breathe life into, a city. Giuseppe Vasi’s "Prospetto di Roma," completed in 1765, is one of those rare works. Few artists in history have endeavoured on a project of such a vast scale, and no artist but Vasi has ever captured Rome’s epic grandeur in the vastness of minute detail.
